Jharkhand Information and Library Association (JILA) is a registered professional body which was formed in Ranchi on 15th April 2007. It was registered under Societies Registration Act 21 of year 1860, with Registration No. 921/07-08 on 5th September 2007. Its H.Q. is in Ranchi. JILA has a great concern for the development of library & information services in and around Jharkhand state to create a healthy educational and knowledge- based environment through promoting and implementing Modern Library Systems in this region. JILA enables its members to achieve and maintain the highest professional standards and encourage them in delivery and promotion of high-quality library and information services responsive to the needs of the users. We organize Workshops/conferences/Seminars/Important Days and other LIS activities time to time to enhance professional knowledge and expertise for overall development of Librarians/Libraries. It has a large number of members.
